The story
Sixty 8 is a registered trademark of the Swiss family business Green Brothers, which was founded in 2018 by three brothers with a passion for CBD and its culture. After completing their studies, they decided to embark on an adventure by founding the company, a pioneer in the field in Switzerland. It all started on the family farm, which became the place to grow and develop the best existing CBD genetics and CBD-based by-products.
The design
Sixty 8 is an allusion to May 68, the important social movement that took place in France but also influenced many other movements in surrounding countries in Europe. “It represents the liberation of marginalized strata, the freedom to choose to be, and the empowerment of the working classes and youth. That’s how we visualized our designs through this global thinking,” reveals the team.
The label
Sixty 8’s labels convey these ideas in a variety of designs that will appeal to the widest possible audience. Sixty 8 shares these ideals and tries to convey them through its products, its visuals and its open-minded, inclusive image. “We therefore orient certain visuals according to product characteristics so that everyone can relate to them.”
Based on the same principle, the brand varies not only aesthetics but also materials according to the nature and shape of the products, so that they can catch everyone’s eye. “We don’t want to target a specific clientele, but to bring them together around our products, whose quality is important to us.
For most of the range, Sixty 8 has opted for 50 µm Transparent PP Film – Transparent PET Liner. The advantage is that the label becomes invisible, and only the elements printed on it stand out, simulating a silk-screen print.
For a number of products in their range, Sixty 8 uses 80 g Metallic Glossy Paper (FSC® Mix Credit), for a finish simulating hot foil stamping. In this way, elements printed without opaque white benefit from a metallic color, such as gold or silver.
For the rest of their products, Sixty 8 uses Papier Blanc Brillant 80 g (FSC® Mix Credit) and Papier Blanc Mat 90 g (FSC® Mix Credit). These papers are coated, smooth, with a glossy or matte finish. These substrates are particularly suitable for printing full-color labels.
