Sheet labels – What are they?

As their name suggests, these labels are printed on a sheet and are the pendant of conventional roll labels. Printing on a sheet rather than on a roll can be particularly interesting for short runs. Sheet labels are ideal for manual application, as they are easily detached from the backing and glued directly to the product. Sheet labels are not suitable for mechanical processing.

A4 or A4+: what’s the difference?

A4+ means that the sheets on which your labels are printed are slightly larger than A4. The reason we opted for this solution is simple: efficiency. Depending on the format of your labels, we can use the sheets with the new dimensions twice as efficiently as before! So there’s less waste, and our label production is even more environmentally friendly.

The format delivered may vary depending on the details of the order–unfortunately, it is not possible to allocate it precisely in advance. However, both variants offer the same high quality and can be processed without any problems. So whatever format you receive, you can always count on precise printing.

5 steps to perfect labels on sheets!

Are you in the process of developing a product and have now reached the packaging design stage? The right label is a decisive factor at the point of sale. That’s why the choice of your sheet labels needs to be made with care. There are many aspects to consider. We’re here to help!

That’s why we’ve summarized 5 steps to ensure that the planning and production of product labels goes as smoothly as possible:

  1. First, determine the packaging and label shape: for this, you need to have already chosen a container or packaging method. Now you can familiarize yourself with the types of label and choose a shape suitable for the packaging, of course.
  2. Choose the material: Secondly, you choose the material, taking into account the purpose of your product. At labelletiquette.fr, you’ll find a wide choice of materials. We’ll be happy to help you if you have any questions about choosing the right material.
  3. Design AND brand identity: your sheet labels need to reflect the company’s visual identity, so that company values and product features are visualized. And that’s precisely why our graphic design service has the right intuition!
  4. Test first. Then make your choice: Our free sample book allows you to apply materials to your product on a trial basis. You can also have a proof print of a small quantity of labels on sheets produced under original conditions. Use our proofing service for this.
  5. Pay attention to legal requirements: It’s important that your labels comply with the regulations specific to your sector. That’s why we recommend a legal check before production. This includes, for example, the printing of barcodes on labels.

Front label, back label and banner

Whether it’s a front label, back label or banner, we’ve got the right type of label for you. The front label is located on the front of your product and usually includes the logo and product designation. The back label, which often contains content information, is located on the rear of the product. A banderole surrounds the entire product.

The type of label best suited to your A4 or A4+ sheet labels depends primarily on the product and packaging concerned. Various factors play an important role, such as sector, area of use, formal criteria and visual appearance. For example, labels for food products, honey or jams often use tamper-proof labels, while champagne bottles are often equipped with neck loops.

Labels on sheets – 100% customized

Your sheet labels can also be freely designed in terms of shape, size and design. Only additional finishings such as hot foil or embossing, are not possible. What’s more, as with our classic roll labels, it’s possible to combine several types of sheet labels in a single order.

For materials, you can choose between our 80g white paper, 90g natural white paper, 60µ white PP film and 60µ transparent PP film. Of course, we can also supply you with blank labels. To print the sheets at a later date, please contact our customer service department. We’ll be happy to advise you on your options!

Correctly create print data for sheet labels

To make it as easy as possible for you to create print data, we’ve put together some instructions in our tutorials. Not sure whether the print data for your sheet labels has been created correctly? Use our graphic correction service and we’ll check your data.

Manually applying sheet labels

Sheet labels are applied manually. One of the advantages of this type of labeling is the precision with which labels can be applied. It helps to emphasize the individuality of products, especially those made by hand. What’s more, the quality of your labels can be better controlled and maintained.

Ultimately, applying labels from sheets by hand is individual, precise and flexible. Find out more about our labeling options and how to correctly apply labels to sheets by hand.
