The story
The son of a farmer specializing in fruit growing, particularly mangoes, Pierre-Olivier has always been confronted with the fact that large quantities of mangoes are wasted every year. Indeed, because of small visual defects on the fruit, they were shunned by consumers.
This is why, after studying to become a food processing engineer, Pierre-Olivier created Pulpe Mascareignes Industrie in 2014, a company specializing in the manufacture of frozen fruit purees for professionals (ice cream makers, jam makers, restaurateurs, etc…).
However, in 2020, during the Covid containment period, almost all his customers were closed, so Pierre-Oliver could no longer sell his fruit purees. So he thought of a way to sell them himself through the only distribution channel still open: supermarkets. In November 2020, he launched Les Vergers de Marie juices, which have been a huge success, with demand growing month after month. Today, Les Vergers de Marie offers around 15 different juices.
“And the choice of Plus adhesive because the bottles have to be kept cool, and the labels have to resist condensation, especially when our juices are delivered.”

The design
Competition in the fruit juice sector on Reunion Island is quite fierce, so Les Vergers de Marie noticed that all its competitors were using the same type of bottle, differentiated only by their labels. So it all started with the bottle. “I knew this was the bottle I wanted to use. With the help of a graphic designer friend and my wife’s ideas, we wanted the label to be an extension of the bottle, while at the same time emphasizing the high-end image of our brand”. The next challenge was to find a competent printer to print these special labels. “Locally, I was turned down several times, some at exorbitant prices. That’s why I turned to labelletiquette.fr, and I wasn’t disappointed,” says Pierre-Olivier.

The label
Pierre-Olivier chose Premium Matte White Paper 121 g – Adhesive Plus (FSC® Mix Credit) as the base for these exceptional labels. This is a lightly textured paper with an adhesive suitable for ice buckets. “Premium Matte White Paper to maintain that premium look. And the choice of Adhesive Plus because the bottles have to be kept cool, and the labels have to resist condensation, especially when our juices are delivered.”
In fact, Adhesive Plus technology adds an undercoat to the label that helps reduce bubbles and wrinkles caused by moisture absorption by labels in humid conditions. The undercoat helps retain the label’s shape, protecting it from distortion. Plus technology also improves the die-cutting process, making it a good solution for complex label shapes.
