GHS labels for labelling hazardous substances

GHS labels are based on the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS). This global standardized system is used to classify chemical products and provide guidance for their labeling on packaging. Hazard labels can be recognized by the uniform red and white hazard pictograms affixed to the packaging, indicating the danger posed by the substance.

A distinction is made between the type of hazard, i.e. whether it involves explosive substances, gases and gaseous substances, or flammable liquids. Examples of flammable (left) and explosive (right) hazard pictograms:

Labels for hazardous substances

In order to clearly indicate to consumers and users the danger posed by the substance or object in question, hazardous substance labels must contain certain information:

  • Substance name
  • Danger pictogram
  • Warning word
  • Indication of danger
  • Safety indication
  • Supplier’s name, address and telephone number
  • Nominal quantity
  • Additional information, if required.

A minimum label size is also prescribed, depending on packaging capacity.

Please note: We cannot guarantee the accuracy of your GHS labels. Before printing, please check that your label contains all the information required by the GHS or CLP regulations.

Warning labels & hazard symbols for all industries

At labelletiquette.fr, you can also obtain warning stickers with hazard symbols. These are used wherever special care is required or special rules have to be observed, because safety at work is an extremely important subject for all sectors and all companies.
Since the Corona pandemic, round, blue and white instructions such as “wash hands”, “disinfect hands” or “keep away” have become increasingly important. These safety signs indicate that certain commandments and rules must be observed to ensure everyone’s safety.

Round, red and white prohibition signs can also be used, contributing to safety in the workplace or in public buildings. The “No smoking” pictogram is an example of this type of prohibition sign. These prohibition signs are designed to prevent potentially dangerous behavior.

Warning signs are another way of drawing attention to hazards. These triangular, yellow and black markings indicate particularly dangerous places where there is a potential risk, such as “Electrical Voltage Warning”.

GHS labels & warning stickers from labelletiquette.fr

At labelletiquette.fr, you’ll find GHS labels, warning stickers and information labels on robust substrates suitable for industrial and chemical use. Our film labels, which are resistant to moisture, chemicals and oils, are particularly suitable. Film lamination provides extra protection against scratches and additional resistance to tearing.
You can also choose between production on rolls or on sheets. Labels on rolls are particularly suited to mechanical processing. If you want to apply your labels by hand, it’s a good idea to produce them on a sheet. Film labels on sheets can be finished with a protective matt or gloss varnish. For technical production reasons, laminating is only available for roll-fed labels. Find out more about the two production variants and their advantages and disadvantages.
