PP and PE films – Here are the differences:
At labelletiquette.fr, you can choose from a range of vinyl substrates. We distinguish between polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene (PE) film. The first major difference is the strength of the substrate: PP film is tear- and heat-resistant, whereas PE film is not. Similarly, hot foil stamping is unfortunately not possible on PE film.
Both films can be finished with a laminate or protective varnish – both available in matte or gloss. This gives vinyl labels even greater protection against moisture. Such a finish is particularly recommended for labels in the cosmetics or beverage industries.
PP film is available in two thicknesses:
- With a thickness of 60 mµ, it is available in gloss and matte.
- With a thickness of 90 mµ, it is available in glossy finish.
PE film is available in one thickness:
- With a thickness of 85 mµ, it is available in glossy finish.
