Brasserie d'Emeraude
Beer & Emerald Coast. Born of the passion of two Breton craftsmen, Brasserie d'Emeraude reveals local beers rooted in their terroir. A strong graphic identity, regional know-how and adapted media shape an authentic, elegant range. Find out more about the company, its products and labels.
The story
The company was created in 2015 following a professional reconversion by Cédric, who was renovating houses on the Emerald Coast in Brittany. David, an employee at the time, wanted to stay with this new adventure, which consisted of creating a brewery that would offer local beers in this area. “We transformed the company’s premises to quickly become a truly functional brewery. Cédric has hired regularly, and now has a staff of 6.”
The brewery began with 2 beers, and each year has expanded the range to 8 permanent beers. These beers are mild and untypical, appealing to a wide range of customers. Most of them are made with local produce, which gives them a real “terroir” value.
“Papier Vergé Blanc 90g/m2 (FSC® Mix Credit) is of excellent quality thanks to its resistance to refrigeration, and gives a high-end image that enhances the product’s value”.

The design
The idea behind the design of the first labels (Télès, Pylône, Aldeta, Gueuza) was to have a graphic identity that would identify the brewery at first glance, without reading the name. In fact, they are designed with a tear on each side and a symbol related to the name of the beer in the center. The label is monochrome, which accentuates the effect of belonging to a range when displayed on shelves alongside other beers from the brewery.
The beers in the secondary range are more classically designed. The latter is inspired by old pastel posters used to promote the seaside at the beginning of the 20th century. The aluminum range is more innovative, with its white aluminum bottle and monochrome label.

The support
For most of the range, Brasserie d’Emeraude uses 60µm glossy white PP film. This film is resistant to humidity and refrigeration. For the white aluminum range, the brewery has opted for 50µm Transparent PP Film (transparent PET liner). The advantage is that the label is invisible, and only the printed elements stand out. “When we see this bottle, we can think that the aluminum is directly printed. The rendering is perfect. For their triple beer, the brewers use Papier Vergé Blanc 90g/m2 (FSC® Mix Credit) “It’s of excellent quality thanks to its resistance to refrigeration, and gives a high-end image that enhances the product.”
The label
“We wanted to keep a link with the local community, as they are all on the theme of the sea (which is 1 km away). Only the “pylon” is different, but it also symbolizes the local area, as the Marémotrice factory located next door distributes its electricity thanks to numerous pylons; in fact, we have one in our backyard.” The first range is aimed at a “Craft beer” public, with a more trendy design, while the second range is more likely to be found on the tables of establishments offering local produce.
