The story
Brasserie de Lugazaut is a Landes microbrewery located in the heart of a 120-hectare forest. Created in 2018, it is the fruit of its brewer’s desire to return to his roots and bring to fruition a project matured during a trip to South America. Lugazaut means “small meadow where the earth is fertile” in Landais dialect. Passionate about the world of craft beer, and favoring work on a human scale, we strive to promote local production. Our aim is to offer quality beers, accessible to all beer lovers, with rich and varied flavors. The brewery offers a range of 7 permanent beers. This range is regularly supplemented by ephemeral creations in line with the seasons, or collaborations with local producers: unique beers that reflect the region’s terroir.
The design
Since the brewery was founded, we’ve been working with the Itada Studio graphic design studio. The talented Stéphanie Matharet created our visual identity, and we also call on her to design our labels. Our logo has a double meaning. It’s inspired by the profile of the family dog, a German shepherd, who sadly died during the brewery’s creation. It also evokes the family property on which the brewery is located, which if you look at the cadastral boundary, is shaped like a dog’s head.
We designed the labels to be legible, understandable and easily identifiable. The choice of color, specific to each recipe, is a real plus for our consumers, who sometimes refer to our beers by the color of the label rather than the name of the recipe.
We also produce personalized labels for events, collaborations, or when we produce ephemeral recipes.
The label
For its labels, Brasserie de Lugazaut chose Papier Blanc Mat Premium 90 g (FSC® Mix Credit). This premium matte paper is synonymous with simple elegance, and enhances the value of the labeled product. This paper is also compatible with a hot foil finish to underline the quality of your products. The texture-free surface enables thermal transfer printing, for example, to apply a DDM or DLUO. The paper is white, uncoated, matte, smooth and wood-free.
S2030N adhesive offers excellent adhesion to a variety of different surfaces at low temperatures, with high initial tack. Specially designed for bottle labelling, it enables easy application, even when labelling labels with complicated shapes.
