Tyvek® – What is it?

Tyvek® is neither paper nor film, which makes it a very special material. The non-woven material is made of hard polyethylene fibers (HDPE), which are layered and compressed as required. The result is a very high-density, particularly resistant fabric.

Thanks to its special structure and construction, Tyvek® is resistant to water, most chemicals, heat, cold and UV rays. As a result, the material is mainly used in areas where circumstances and material and product requirements are difficult. Areas of application include, for example, the manufacture of protective clothing or sterile packaging for medical products, the construction industry, roofing and weather protection, fashion clothing and accessories, and many others.

Tyvek® label applications

Thanks to its material properties, Tyvek® is particularly suitable for labeling chemical products and containers, and can be used in temperatures ranging from -20 to +80°C. The material is also ideally suited to cosmetic labels, as it resists contact with water and oil, and is easy to wash off. But of course, Tyvek® labels are also ideal for labelling other products such as wine, craft beer or spirits. As you can see, thanks to its unique structure and properties, Tyvek® can be used universally in all sectors and for all products. Tyvek is particularly well-suited to labelling chemical products, thanks to its resistance and robustness. Customize Tyvek® labels

The unprinted Tyvek® label is slightly velvety to the touch. Because the individual fibers are visible on top of each other, the material gives the impression of having been drawn. As unique as the material is, Tyvek® can be printed easily and simply using digital printing. Finishes such as hot foil stamping, protective varnish and embossing are no problem either. This means your Tyvek® label can be designed and printed to suit your individual wishes and ideas. After printing, the individual fibers are only visible at close range.
