Scratch-resistant labels for all sectors and products
Scratch-resistant labels are particularly suitable for products requiring extra protection against abrasion. Conventional paper labels would not be suitable, especially for products in the beverage, industrial, cosmetics or chemical sectors, which are subject to high levels of stress. We therefore recommend scratch-resistant labels.
The benefits of scratch-resistant labels at a glance :
- Abrasion resistance
- Tear resistance
- Permanently legible
- Oil & moisture resistance
- Strong, permanent adhesion
- Versatile use
How can I make labels scratch-resistant?
As a basis for scratch-resistant labels, we always recommend tear-resistant polypropylene film, as film labels are inherently robust and resistant to moisture and oil.
For optimum protection of the label surface against abrasion, we recommend the application of a so-called film lamination, i.e. an additional film that is applied to the label, protecting it not only against abrasion, but also against moisture and oil. At labelletiquette.fr, you can choose between standard gloss and matte laminations, and a matte lamination specially designed to resist scratches. We’ll be happy to advise you personally on the recommended areas of application and durability of the various laminations. Please note that :
Scratch-resistant does not mean that labels are resistant to targeted damage by fingernails or other means. The laminate protects the label from abrasion and scratches that occur during daily use of the products concerned, but not from targeted damage.
Abrasion-resistant labels on rolls or sheets
At labelletiquette.fr, the choice is yours: as a professional label manufacturer, we print your labels on both rolls and sheets. Both production variants are suitable for different fields of application:
- Sheet-fed production is best suited for manual processing, as sheet-fed labels cannot be machine-processed. Another advantage: Printing on sheets can be particularly interesting for short runs.
- Roll production is ideal if you want to apply labels to your products using a labeling machine. Of course, roll labels can also be glued to the product by hand.
See our comparison of the two production variants, with all their advantages and disadvantages. Use our online calculator to find out which packaging variant is best suited to your needs.
