Digital labels for your products
At labelletiquette.fr, your labels are produced using digital printing. In digital printing, the print file is transmitted directly from the computer to the printing machine. Chemically treated printing plates and films are a thing of the past, because digital printing is what’s known as a non-impact process. This means that there is no longer any contact between a static printing form and the material being printed on.
Today, digital printing achieves almost the same print quality as conventional offset printing, especially in terms of color brilliance and image sharpness. However, digital printing is much more cost-effective, especially for short runs and customization, as there’s no need for costly machine set-up and calibration. This is because the print file is sent directly to the machine, and printing can begin immediately. The result is some major advantages for label production:
Digital printing at a glance
- In general, digital printing is particularly convincing for its short preparation and printing times.
- Printing is done in four-color process (CMYK: Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black) plus additional special colors if required. Thanks to cutting-edge technology and automated color management, HP-Indigo digital presses guarantee printed products with sharp contours, high color accuracy and consistent quality for impeccable prints and reprints.
- Digitally printed labels can be personalized easily and economically – a feature that is practically only possible with digital printing. Each label can therefore be given a different look and be personalized with names or codes. This enables companies and brand owners to react quickly to trends, implement even short-term marketing campaigns, and address customers in a highly targeted way.
- Thanks to digital printing, short-run printing and print-on-demand are also cost-effective. Ideal for all customers who need many different types or continuous numbering.
- Quick changeover from one order to the next is no problem at all. As a result, the printing machines run more efficiently, and there is less waste. Digital printing thus combines creative diversity and maximum print quality with flexibility and efficient production.
Sustainable printing with HP Indigo
The HP Indigo is the only digital press to have achieved GRACol certification (Certification for proofing). At the same time, the ecological credentials of digital printing inks are equally convincing: they can be recycled and meet the high requirements of Nordic Swan Ecolabelling. What’s more, digital printing produces virtually no waste and requires no expensive, chemically-treated printing plates. This reduces the waste associated with printing plates. The preparation work and intensive cleaning cycles normally required for conventional analog printing are also massively reduced.
The advanced LEP (Liquid Electrophotographic) technology of HP digital presses dispenses with many hazardous substances that are commonplace in conventional printing processes such as offset. What’s more, no dubious substances, heavy metals or aromatic amines are used.
Special features of digital printing
A feature of digital label printing, widely used in both the energy drink and sports nutrition markets, is the ability to simulate metallic effects on self-adhesive labels. Simulating metallic effects such as gold, silver and bronze on digital labels can be a cost-effective alternative to traditional hot foil stamping in a number of cases.
Looking for labels with sequential numbering? No problem for digital printing. The same goes for barcodes and QR codes.
The production of labels printed on demand on transparent films can also be achieved much more economically with digital printing machines. We can produce white text and primer at the touch of a button, eliminating the need for expensive printing plates.
