Materials for the pharmaceutical sector

Labels for products in the pharmaceutical or medical sector often have to meet specific requirements in terms of material and adhesive. Depending on the product and application, for example, they need to be oil- or water-resistant, stick reliably even at sub-zero temperatures, or be easily removable.

For most applications in the pharmaceutical sector, PE or PP film labels are particularly well-suited. They are resistant to water and oil, and at the same time offer reliable, permanent adhesive strength. These film labels are also available as repositionable labels with a special adhesive. This allows the product to be corrected at a later date or, if desired, to be removed without leaving any residue.

Our special Tyvek material is also suitable for pharmaceutical and medical products. It consists of a non-woven fabric made of PE fibers. Multiple overlapping produces a particularly robust, tear-proof, water- and oil-resistant material.

Another option for protecting your label against abrasion, moisture or contact with oil is to apply a film lamination. This transparent film (matte or glossy) is pulled over the label and applied as a protective layer over the print.

• Pharmaceutical form and contents
• List of excipients with mode of action.

Medicines must also be equipped with additional safety features that prevent tampering or make it directly recognizable. These include, for example, the original cap.
